Located on the western edge of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, RHS Garden Harlow Carr is one of the Royal Horticultural Society's premier sites. It has a rich history, dating back to the eighteenth century when sulphur springs were found here and a bath house attracted those seeking the healing waters. The gardens were originally started in 1950 by the Northern Horticultural Society to see which plants could handle the harsh northern climate, before being handed over to the RHS in 2001.

Across its 58 acres, the garden is most famous for its streamside plantings—some of the longest in the UK—where bright, water-loving perennials line a winding stream. Visitors can wander through a winter walk, scented and kitchen gardens, an alpine house, and woodland meadows that offer something to see in every season.
