The Severn Valley Railway is a heritage line stretching from Bridgnorth in Shropshire to Kidderminster in Worcestershire. Visitors can ride restored steam and diesel trains through beautiful countryside and along the River Severn. Highlights include vintage period stations, the cast-iron Victoria Bridge and the Engine House visitor center at Highley, which showcases historic trains.

The Severn Valley Railway is one of Britain's favorite heritage lines, stretching sixteen miles from Bridgnorth in Shropshire to Kidderminster in Worcestershire. Much of the route follows the River Severn, crossing over the water via the elegant cast-iron Victoria Bridge. While the original line opened in 1862 and ran until the 1960s, a preservation society stepped in during 1965 to slowly bring the tracks back to life, finally reaching Kidderminster in 1984.

Trains pulled by carefully restored steam and diesel engines stop at pristine period stations, which capture the feeling of a past era with their vintage signage and gardens. Passengers ride in classic carriages through beautiful countryside, passing by wooded hills and the river. At Highley, the Engine House visitor center showcases a variety of historic trains, and with dining experiences, galas, and family events held year-round, it's a great day out for train buffs and casual tourists alike.
