    Regional departure by coach and journey to Yorkshire. We make a stop this afternoon at one of Yorkshire's hidden gems: Wentworth Woodhouse. The Grade I-listed country house is one of the grandest stately homes in the country and is full of remarkable history. It boasts the longest façade of any stately home in the UK and has over 50 acres of private gardens. Entrance is included to the house, where you can learn about the restoration work and enjoy the state rooms. There is a lovely tearoom serving refreshments.

    Harewood House and RHS Harlow Carr

    This morning we visit another of Yorkshire finest stately homes: Harewood House. Built in the 18th century and still home to the Lascelles family, it combines magnificent architecture, world-class art collections, exquisite Chippendale furniture, and beautifully landscaped gardens designed by Capability Brown.

    Visitors can explore elegant Staterooms, enjoy sweeping views across the lake and parkland, and discover vibrant gardens including the renowned Himalayan Garden. There are also plenty of options for a spot of lunch or tea coffee and cake.

    This afternoon we visit RHS Harlow Carr, nestled on the edge of Harrogate. Set across 58 acres, the garden is renowned for its streamside walks, woodland gardens, seasonal displays, and inspiring garden designs that thrive in northern conditions. Managed by the Royal Horticultural Society, Harlow Carr offers year-round colour, expert gardening inspiration, and a quintessential Yorkshire experience.

    We depart the hotel this morning and visit Cannon Hall. This stunning Georgian country house is set within beautiful historic parkland and landscaped gardens. The museum is free of charge and the walled garden and fairyland garden are both a must see. For fans of the popular TV series 'Springtime on the Farm', the next door farm is the filming location for the Channel 5 show. The farm itself does have an entrance fee, but the house and gift shop are free for you to explore.

    We journey home this afternoon.

Located between Leeds and Harrogate in West Yorkshire, Harewood House is a stunning Georgian mansion built for the Lascelles family between 1759 and 1771. The estate was a collaboration of the era's greatest minds: architect John Carr designed the structure, Robert Adam crafted the elegant neoclassical interiors, and Thomas Chippendale created bespoke furniture for the rooms. It is worth noting that the family's wealth was built on the West Indian plantation economy.

Inside, you'll find incredible art collections featuring works by Turner and Italian Renaissance masters, as well as fine porcelain and original Chippendale pieces. The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a five-mile heritage line in West Yorkshire. Visitors ride vintage steam engines through the Pennine hills and historic mill towns. Highlights include Oakworth station, famous for its role in The Railway Children, and Haworth station, which offers access to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, the cobbled village and the wild moors.

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is a five-mile branch line that winds through the heart of Brontë Country in West Yorkshire, stretching from Keighley up to Oxenhope. Originally opened in 1867 to support the valley's textile mills and the village of Haworth, the line was saved from closure in the 1960s by a preservation society. Since reopening in 1968, it has become one of the UK's most cherished heritage railways.

The journey stops at six stations, including the charming Oakworth, famous for its role in the 1970 film The Railway Children.
