The Swanage Railway is a heritage line in Dorset's Isle of Purbeck. Steam and diesel trains run through Jurassic Coast landscapes, connecting Swanage with Norden. Winding through Dorset's stunning Isle of Purbeck, the Swanage Railway is a cherished heritage line where steam and diesel trains run along about five and a half miles of restored track. The route connects the Victorian town of Swanage with Corfe Castle and Norden, cutting through the pristine landscapes of the Jurassic Coast. After opening in 1885, the line was shut down by British Railways in 1972, but a dedicated group of volunteers spent years rebuilding it, eventually reaching Norden by 1993.

Passengers can now enjoy nostalgic trips behind classic locomotives, with the standout moment being the approach to Corfe Castle as the medieval ruins tower over the village. Along with a railway museum at Corfe Castle station, the line occasionally links up with mainline services at Wareham, making it as much of a practical connection as it is a scenic ride.
