The Kelpies

Located in Helix parkland near Falkirk, central Scotland, the Kelpies are the world's largest horse sculptures. These massive stainless steel structures reflect sunlight by day and are illuminated at night. Visitors can explore the surrounding lagoon and paths, or take guided tours inside the sculptures to see how they were constructed.

The Kelpies are two massive horse-head sculptures located by the Forth and Clyde Canal in the Helix parkland near Falkirk, central Scotland. Designed by Andy Scott and opened in 2015, these 30-metre structures consist of stainless steel panels over a steel frame. They are the largest horse sculptures on earth and are named after the shape-shifting water spirits of Scottish myth, while also honoring the heavy horses that once worked the fields and towed barges along the canals.

During the day, the steel reflects the sunlight, and at night, they are lit up, creating a landmark that can be seen from the motorway. Visitors can explore the surrounding paths, lagoon, and waterways of the Helix park, and guided tours allow guests to go inside the sculptures to see how they were built. With a visitor centre and café on site, it is a convenient and impressive place to stop.
